US Official: If Government Funding Issue Persists, May Have to Shut Down Some Airports

BlockBeats News, March 17th, a senior official of the Trump administration said on Tuesday that if the government funding shortage continues, some smaller airports may be forced to close in the coming weeks due to a lack of security personnel.

This partial government shutdown has already led to 50,000 Transportation Security Administration airport security screeners working without pay for the past month, with 10% of the workforce absent from work on Sunday.

"Over time, if this situation persists, we do need to take very, very seriously the possibility of doing some really draconian things, up to and including a total shutdown of airports—we have to do that, particularly for those smaller airports." Acting Deputy Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration Adam Staltar told Fox News. (Golden Finance)
