Musk publicly apologizes for xAI's earlier mistake of rejecting a large number of candidates, personally reviews interview records, and states that xAI was "not built right from the beginning."

According to 1M AI News monitoring, on the same day co-founders Guodong Zhang and Zihang Dai confirmed their resignations and Grok Imagine leader Haotian Liu announced his departure, Musk posted on X apologizing, saying that over the past few years many talented individuals had been rejected by xAI for offers or even interview opportunities, 「My apologies.」 He stated that he was currently reviewing company interview records with Human Capital co-founder Baris Akis and reaching out to previously rejected promising candidates.


Earlier, Musk replied to e/acc movement initiator Guillaume Verdon (online alias Beff Jezos), saying, 「xAI was not built properly from the beginning, so we are currently rebuilding from the ground up. Tesla went through the same thing in its early years.」 As of now, out of the 11 co-founders of xAI at its establishment (excluding Musk), 9 have already left, leaving only Manuel Kroiss and Ross Nordeen.
