U.S. Treasury Secretary: U.S. Navy to Escort Ships Through the Strait of Hormuz

BlockBeats News, March 13th, U.S. Treasury Secretary Yellen revealed that the U.S. Navy will escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's new top leader, Ebrahim Raisi, said on Thursday that he plans to effectively close this strategic waterway, through which 20% of the global oil supply must pass, as a bargaining chip against the United States and Israel. In response to this, Yellen stated: "As long as the military conditions allow, the U.S. Navy—perhaps with an international coalition—will immediately begin escorting ships. In fact, there are still oil tankers passing through, including Iranian oil tankers. So we know they have not blocked the strait."

According to PolyBeats monitoring, on the prediction market Polymarket, the probability of "Strait of Hormuz reopening for navigation before April 30th" is 46%.
