NVIDIA Doubles Down on Investment in Thinking Machines, to Provide AI Chip Support

BlockBeats News, March 10th, Nvidia (NVDA.O) is investing in artificial intelligence company Thinking Machines Lab and providing chips to help train and run the startup's AI models. The company was founded by former OpenAI executive Mila Mladić.

Thinking Machines stated that, under a multi-year agreement, the company will use Nvidia's upcoming Vera Rubin AI accelerator. These chips are expected to be deployed early next year, providing at least the equivalent of 1 exaflop of computing power to Thinking Machines.

Nvidia did not disclose the specific terms of the deal, nor did it specify whether the investment would be made in cash, chips, or a combination of both. The two companies only referred to it as a "significant" investment. (Jinse)
