According to PolyBeats monitoring, on the prediction market Polymarket, several accounts that previously bet on "Hyperlend FDV exceeding $20 million on opening day" have collectively made a profit of $8200, and the market has now settled as "Yes".
Considering the token price reference, this settlement process appears to involve price manipulation driven by the prediction market. According to the market rules, if the FDV is above $20 million on the day after token release at 4:00 PM ET, the outcome is settled as "Yes". Based on the total supply of 1 billion $HPL tokens, this implies that the token price must be above $0.02 at the 4:00 PM ET snapshot time.
$HPL was launched on February 27th in ET time, and from the first 5 minutes of trading until 1:57 PM on the 28th, the price remained below $0.02. However, in a brief two-minute window starting at 3:58 PM, the price suddenly surged from $0.017 to $0.0201 (an 18% increase in 2 minutes), precisely crossing the settlement threshold at 4:00 PM and triggering a "Yes" outcome.
It is worth noting that if we exclude the initial 5-minute price discovery period before token launch, this last-minute price of $0.0201 used to cross the threshold is the all-time high for HPL to date. After meeting Polymarket's settlement conditions, HPL dropped to a low of $0.012, a 41% decrease.
