White House Spokesperson: Trump Has No Plans to Pardon SBF

2026-02-24 16:20

BlockBeats News, February 25th, according to Fortune magazine, convicted FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is launching a futile bid for a U.S. presidential pardon. Despite serving a 25-year sentence in federal prison, he continues to post relentlessly criticizing the "deep state" and other opponents frequently mentioned by the MAGA camp.

While Bankman-Fried did not explicitly state his goal, his social media blitzkrieg's purpose is obvious: to persuade U.S. President Trump to release him from federal prison. Given Trump's past pardons of prominent individuals convicted of financial crimes, this strategy seems not entirely illogical.

However, for the White House, Bankman-Fried's plea appears destined to fail. In response to a request for comment, a White House spokesperson reiterated that Trump has no intention of pardoning Bankman-Fried.
