Aave Core Contributor BGD Labs to Sunset Operations in April

BlockBeats News, February 20th, Aave core contributor BGD Labs announced that its service agreement with the Aave DAO will not be renewed after expiring on April 1, 2026, and will cease contributions.

Over the past 4 years, BGD has led or participated in the development of Aave v3, governance, and security-related infrastructure, but due to organizational direction changes and governance environment, it has decided to end the collaboration. It stated that it will complete existing work before the expiration and ensure a smooth handover. It also proposed to provide a 2-month transitional security support period for the community to decide through governance.
