BlockBeats News, February 19th - According to data released today by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. trade deficit in December 2025 widened, closing a year of turmoil and uncertainty in trade policies. The goods and services trade deficit expanded to $70.3 billion from the previous month. The annual deficit reached $901.5 billion, one of the largest deficits on record since 1960. The December trade deficit reflected a 3.6% increase in imports, while goods and services exports fell by 1.7%. The market generally expected the total trade deficit for December to be $55.5 billion.
