CZ: Meme traders need to form their own trading strategy. For a meme coin to achieve long-term development, it must have a strong cultural characteristic.

2026-02-12 15:09

BlockBeats News, February 12, Binance founder CZ stated in an AMA:

I'm not a very good meme trader. I don't know what strategy those who really make money as meme traders use. However, if you buy all the meme coins that others have made based on my tweets, I can guarantee you will lose money. I think this is quite certain.

People may take this statement and distort it in the wrong direction. But what I want to say is: if you are a meme trader, you must form your own strategy. I also don't know what strategy is right.

But I think, for a meme coin to last, it must have a very strong cultural attribute. Look at those that have lasted a long time, like Dogecoin, like Floki, they can exist for a long time because they have a very loyal fan base.

The newly launched ones are riskier. So my advice to people is: if you are not sure what you are doing, basically, don't touch it. Unless you really understand, I am not an expert in this area.
