BlockBeats News, February 4th: Base has released a post-incident report regarding the network outage on January 31st. On that day, Base experienced transaction losses and inclusion delays due to a transaction propagation configuration change that caused block assemblers to repeatedly fetch transactions that couldn't be executed due to rapidly increasing base fees.
Base has stated that the issue has been mitigated by rolling back the change, and network stability has been restored. The team is taking measures to prevent recurrence, including optimizing the transaction pipeline, removing unnecessary P2P overhead, and adjusting the mempool queue. This work is expected to take about a month. Additionally, Base is enhancing its alerting system and change monitoring mechanisms.
