BlockBeats News, February 3rd, according to The Block, Tether has released an open-source operating system for Bitcoin mining, providing miners with a new option apart from proprietary, manufacturer-controlled software, and showing that the company is continuously expanding its business scope to the crypto infrastructure field.
The stablecoin issuer stated that it has open-sourced MiningOS (MOS). MOS is an operating system designed to manage, monitor, and automate Bitcoin mining operations, suitable for various scenarios ranging from small-scale home mining rig deployments to large-scale industrial mining farms. Tether first revealed its plan to launch an open-source mining operating system last year, believing that new entrants should be able to participate in Bitcoin mining without relying on expensive, closed-door management tools. Other companies, including Block, owned by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, have also been advocating for more open mining infrastructure.
According to Tether, MOS features a modular peer-to-peer architecture that allows operators to manage mining activities without relying on centralized services. The system is designed to coordinate hardware, energy usage, device health, and mine-level infrastructure within a unified operational layer, giving miners a more comprehensive visualization of the overall operation without depending on a fragmented, disparate software ecosystem.
