BlockBeats News, January 30th, according to CBC News, 21-year-old Canadian-born crypto fugitive Andean Medjedovic is suspected of hacking into Indexed Finance and KyberSwap to steal a total of $65 million in assets. Medjedovic was arrested in Belgrade, Serbia in August 2024 but was released after the Serbian court rejected the extradition request from the Netherlands. He is currently believed to be in hiding in Bosnia.

The investigation showed that Medjedovic used his mathematical and programming skills to attack Indexed Finance at the age of 18, making a profit of $16.5 million, and then in 2023 attacked KyberSwap, making a profit of $48 million. Medjedovic used a fake Slovak passport and traveled through multiple countries including Brazil, Dubai, and Spain. The U.S. Department of Justice has accused him of using mixers like Tornado Cash to launder money. Despite facing multiple international arrest warrants, Medjedovic denied all charges in a previous court statement and claimed to still earn $100,000 per month as a cryptocurrency freelancer.
