According to the New York Post, sources revealed that on Thursday local time, U.S. President Trump met with former Federal Reserve Governor and Stanford University professor Wash after their meeting, Trump called Wash again and asked if he was willing to accept the position — to which he eventually agreed.
It was reported that Rick Rieder, a BlackRock executive, was previously a top contender for the next Federal Reserve Chair. However, according to sources close to him, Rieder was informed on Thursday that he would not be appointed.
