Security firm CertiK is considering an IPO with a target valuation of $2 billion, having recently received a "tens of millions of dollars" investment from Binance.

BlockBeats News, January 24th, Blockchain security audit company CertiK is exploring the possibility of an initial public offering (IPO), with a target valuation of around $2 billion.

CertiK co-founder and Columbia University associate professor of computer science Ronghui Gu stated in an interview this week at Davos, Switzerland, that although a specific timeline for the IPO has not been set, it has become a clear goal for the company.

CertiK, founded in 2018 and headquartered in New York, primarily provides smart contract audit and security services for blockchain projects. Ronghui Gu revealed that CertiK has served over 5,000 clients, with the audited code protecting assets totaling around $6 trillion.

The company's most recent funding round took place in 2022 during the B3 round, with Insight Partners, Tiger Global, and Advent International co-leading the investment. CertiK reached a valuation of $2 billion in this round, raising $88 million. Ronghui Gu stated that Binance was CertiK's earliest and largest financial supporter, with other investors including Coinbase and SoftBank.

Earlier this month, CertiK also announced a strategic partnership with YZi Labs, a family office under CZ. Ronghui Gu mentioned that Binance recently made a "tens of millions of dollars" investment in CertiK.
