Trust Wallet: Proactively Compensates Affected Users, Stolen Funds Totaling Around $8.5 Million

The incident impacts users who opened the Trust Wallet Browser Extension version 2.68 between December 24th and 26th and logged in. If users received a push notification through the Trust Wallet mobile app or saw a security event banner on the Trust Wallet Browser Extension, they might still be using a compromised wallet.

A total of 2,520 wallet addresses have been confirmed to be affected by this incident, with funds stolen by the attacker. The total amount of affected assets is approximately $8.5 million, associated with 17 wallet addresses controlled by the attacker. Trust Wallet has decided to proactively compensate affected users, is finalizing the compensation process and ownership verification procedures, and has started communicating with the victims contacted over the past few days. Affected users are requested to submit an application through the official support form.
