The US will not impose additional tariffs on Chinese chips in the next 18 months

BlockBeats News, December 25th. According to the Global Times, on the 23rd, the U.S. government announced that it would impose tariffs on Chinese chips in 2027, ending the trade investigation against Chinese chips initiated by the previous Biden administration.

U.S. media analysis stated that despite the U.S. government claiming that China's practices in the chip industry "damage U.S. interests," the final decision is to not impose additional tariffs on Chinese chips for at least 18 months. Bloomberg said that postponing the imposition of new tariffs is the latest signal from the U.S. government to solidify the U.S.-China "truce" agreement and stabilize U.S.-China relations.
