Analysts warn that the record options expiry this Friday will amplify volatility. Around 300,000 BTC options contracts (with a notional value of approximately $23.7 billion) will expire on Friday, accounting for over half of Deribit's total outstanding Bitcoin contracts.

Deribit's Chief Commercial Officer Jean-David Pequignot stated that this options expiry is "breaking records," with a total of $28.5 billion in BTC and ETH options expiring, double the amount from the same period last year.
