Analyst: The 2026 Altcoin Season Is Unlikely to Occur, 'Blue Chip Survivors' Will Ultimately Prevail

BlockBeats News, December 23, CoinEx Research Chief Analyst Jeff Ko stated that the typical altcoin rally may weaken next year, with only "blue-chip" cryptocurrencies gaining the vast majority of liquidity. "Retail investors hoping that all altcoins will benefit will be disappointed. We predict that there will be no traditional altcoin rally season; instead, liquidity will be extremely selective, flowing only to those truly market-recognized blue-chip stocks."

Ko expects a moderate bullish trend in global liquidity by 2026, but divergences in various central bank policies will suppress this bullish trend. He also added that since the launch of ETFs in 2024, Bitcoin's historical sensitivity to M2 money supply growth "has weakened, and the correlation is decreasing."

He further added that the company's "basic forecast is that by 2026, Bitcoin's target price will reach $180,000."
