Former Fed Vice Chair Supports Hawkish Rate Cut, Target Inflation Reduced to 2%

BlockBeats News, December 9th, the Federal Reserve is about to hold the FOMC interest rate meeting, former Fed Vice Chair Brainard said in an interview that if she were to participate in this rate decision, she might choose a hawkish rate cut.

Brainard stated that in the absence of official data, she would refer to employment data from non-government sources such as ADP and RevelioLabs (both of which show a decrease in US jobs). Considering that the Fed does not want to see the economy enter a self-reinforcing downward spiral, leading to more layoffs, she personally prefers to cut rates again, then hold rates steady for a period of time, and firmly commit to lowering inflation to 2% over the next two years, known as a hawkish rate cut. She said the primary concern for Americans is inflation and prices. (Jinshi)
