Fed Future Meetings Risk Seeing Increased Disagreements Fueling Market Volatility

BlockBeats News, December 2nd, the Federal Reserve, sometimes criticized for being overly focused on decision-making consistency, may face a series of dissenting votes on the interest rate issue in the future, potentially weakening its policy signaling effectiveness. Regardless of the outcome of this meeting, the likelihood of multiple dissenting votes is high. In the 12-member committee, as many as five voters have expressed opposition or skepticism about further rate cuts, while three governors are in favor of a rate cut.

Threadneedle Fixed Income Investment Manager Al-Hussein said: "If a 7:5 split situation occurs, it will create chaos in the interest rate market trying to price the reasonable path of interest rates for the next 12 to 18 months. It will also be chaos for risk assets seeking Fed policy certainty." (FXStreet)
