BlockBeats News, September 19th, Former Galaxy Digital Research Vice President Christine Kim posted on the X platform, pointing out that a significant decision was made during today's Ethereum developer call ACDC #165. Developers confirmed the schedule for the public testnet and Fusaka's BPO hard fork schedule. The Fusaka mainnet upgrade is tentatively scheduled for December 3rd this year at Epoch 411392.
It is reported that the Fusaka upgrade is the next major hard fork after the May 2025 Pectra upgrade, focusing on the network's scalability, efficiency, and resiliency. It is a core part of the Ethereum "Surge" phase aimed at reducing the costs of Layer 2 (L2) rollups by optimizing data availability and validator responsibilities and increasing overall throughput. Based on some preliminary analysis of Fusaka Devnet-5, blob capacity should more than double within two weeks of Fusaka's launch.
