BlockBeats News, July 31st, according to Financefeeds report, a software engineer at the Indian cryptocurrency exchange platform CoinDCX, which previously suffered a "loss of about $44.2 million in an attack," has been arrested for assisting a hacker attack internally, albeit unintentionally. The employee's computer was compromised by the hacker under the guise of part-time work to install malicious software, which was a sophisticated keylogger. The remote attacker was able to extract login credentials, thereby unauthorizedly accessing CoinDCX's internal systems, resulting in the theft of about $44 million in cryptocurrency. CoinDCX's parent company, Neblio Technologies, reported this misconduct to the Bangalore authorities, triggering a large-scale cybercrime investigation. An internal investigation by the company revealed that the employee received 1.5 million rupees as part-time income.
