BlockBeats News, June 9th, according to The Block, last month, the number of active addresses on the NFT marketplace OpenSea reached its highest level since mid-2023.
According to Dune Analytics data, the OpenSea platform saw a total of 467,322 addresses complete one or more transactions in May, a level of activity close to that seen from mid-2022 to early 2023. As of now, the active user addresses in June have reached 236,091, with the potential to match or even exceed May's level.
Despite the increase in user activity, OpenSea's monthly trading volume remains significantly lower than during the peak of the NFT market boom in 2021 and early 2022. The total transaction volume in May was $81 million, while January 2022 saw a peak of over $5 billion in a single month.
This surge in active users may be related to the official launch of OS2 on May 29th, which was also influenced by user expectations of potential incentives. During the testing phase, OS2 was only open to users holding Gemesis NFTs (this series was released by OpenSea in April 2023, with a total of 94,757 pieces), primarily for testing new features.
