Bitget is providing public chain services to remote areas through the Starlink Program.

2025-05-14 18:53

BlockBeats News, May 14th, Bitget announced the deployment of satellite internet through the Starlink project to improve the network infrastructure in remote areas of the Philippines. The first batch of coverage points includes the Espoir School of Life on Siargao Island and Barangay Pitogo.

The project introduces Starlink satellite equipment to provide the local area with six months of free high-speed internet, aiming to address issues such as inadequate local educational resources and poor communication. Bitget stated that in the future, it will further provide skills training and resource support to local students and women's cooperatives through its "Blockchain4Youth" and "Blockchain4Her" projects.

Prior to this, due to limited infrastructure, local residents mainly relied on microwave radio frequency communication, experiencing frequent network outages, slow speeds, and struggling to meet basic needs such as online learning and telemedicine. The satellite internet access this time will improve the mentioned issues and provide more stable information services to the local area.
