BlockBeats News, May 4th, according to TheBlock, after losing to Epic Games in a legal battle, Apple has relaxed the in-app purchase rules in the US App Store, allowing developers to direct users to external payment channels to circumvent the 30% commission. US District Court Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers ruled on May 3rd that Apple cannot prevent app developers from adding links or buttons to external payment channels. Previously, while NFT and cryptocurrency transactions were allowed in the App Store, they were subject to Apple's 30% in-app purchase fee (or 27% for external payments). After the ruling, iOS apps like OpenSea, which previously only supported browsing, may add transaction modules, and apps like MetaMask that rely on built-in browsers will receive a more compliant payment solution.
