The White House dismissed a customs official this week "allegedly" linked to the author of a critical article about Trump's comments.

BlockBeats News, April 25th, according to The Washington Post, citing a U.S. government official and two other knowledgeable sources, the White House earlier this week removed a senior customs official, primarily because he was believed to be in contact with the author of an anonymous op-ed critical of President Donald Trump in 2018.

George E. Bogden was appointed this year as the executive director of the Customs and Border Protection Office of Trade Relations but was later asked to resign, which surprised other officials within the U.S. government.

It is currently unclear how the U.S. government linked Bogden to Miles Taylor. Taylor had served as a Department of Homeland Security official when writing that anonymous op-ed, which was published in The New York Times and described resistance within the government during Trump's first term.
