BlockBeats News, April 15th. According to Caixin, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has set off for a visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina. After concluding her first day with a meeting with Argentine President Alberto Fernández, Yellen stated in an interview with Bloomberg that the current level of tariffs on China is unsustainable, and a "major agreement" will be reached in the future. She also mentioned that negotiations with some allied countries on equalizing U.S. tariffs are progressing rapidly, hinting that other countries should expedite trade talks with the United States.
In the interview, Yellen responded to the current U.S. tariffs on China, stating that the current tariff rates are very high and not something to be taken lightly. She said, "I think no one thinks that they are sustainable, and no one wants to see them stay in place indefinitely." She remarked, "There is a big deal to be done at some point in the future."
