The Peshawar High Court of Pakistan has directed the government to resolve the issue of illegal cryptocurrency trading within two months.

BlockBeats News, April 12th, according to Cryptopolitan report, the Peshawar High Court in Pakistan has ordered the federal government to address the nationwide issue of illegal cryptocurrency trading within two months. The court has requested the government to first formulate relevant policies and submit a comprehensive report.

This case was filed by lawyer Huzaifa Ahmad. According to the petition, despite the State Bank of Pakistan issuing a notice as early as 2018 declaring virtual currencies such as Bitcoin and Litecoin as illegal means of payment, individuals and businesses are still conducting transactions through online channels. Especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, some training institutes not only offer Bitcoin and forex trading services but also market them on social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

The Deputy Attorney General representing the federal government stated that the government is in the process of formulating relevant legislation, which is expected to take about a month to complete. The court has given the government two months to finally submit the policy proposal.
