Google Cloud: North Korean Hackers Pose as Remote Workers to Target Blockchain Project, Shifting Focus from US to Europe

BlockBeats News, April 2nd, Google Cloud's latest report pointed out that North Korean hackers disguised as IT professionals are intensifying their cyber attacks on European blockchain projects. Projects built on the Solana network (including applications and recruitment) are facing increasing attacks. North Korean hackers impersonate legitimate remote workers, infiltrate companies, take over key systems, and steal sensitive data, which may be sold.

The report reveals that a North Korean hacker in the US and Europe used 12 fake identities to find jobs by forging recommendation letters, building rapport with applicants, and leveraging other identities they controlled to prove their credibility. More blockchain-related projects involve Anchor and Rust smart contract development. An employee even developed an artificial intelligence web application using Electron, Next.js, and blockchain applications.
