BlockBeats News, March 22nd, according to Reuters, Tether, the world's largest stablecoin issuer, is in talks with one of the Big Four accounting firms to advance its long-promised reserve audit. Tether has issued over $140 billion worth of USD-backed cryptocurrency, with the company claiming that each token is backed by US dollar-denominated assets. Currently, Tether only releases quarterly reports and has not yet completed a full audit. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino did not disclose the specific firm in talks or the audit schedule, stating: "This (audit) is our top priority."
Earlier this month, Tether appointed Simon McWilliams as Chief Financial Officer to lead the comprehensive financial audit. At the same time, Tether is also enhancing reserve transparency by purchasing over $33.1 billion worth of US Treasury bonds by 2024, becoming the seventh-largest buyer of US Treasuries.
