US AI Company Perplexity CEO: DeepSeek is Not About Replication, But Innovation

BlockBeats News, January 29, CEO of the U.S. AI company Perplexity, Aravind Srinivas, stated in an interview with CNBC, "Because DeepSeek had to find ways to work around various limitations, they ultimately created something that is actually more efficient. They proposed many clever solutions."

The common perception is that Chinese people are good at replication. But the reality is that some details in DeepSeek 3 are outstanding. I wouldn't even be surprised if Meta borrowed some of the content from it and applied it to the Llama model. This is not to say they are copying, but they are innovating."
