BlockBeats News, January 11th, the SCIHUB community officially released the project whitepaper, written by WTF Academy founder 0xAA, with Sci-Hub founder Alexandra Elbakyan deeply involved in review and editing, providing important guidance for the project's vision and planning. SCIHUB supports scientific funding in the form of a Meme coin, inspired by the proof.fun and MIRA paradigms.
The whitepaper clearly states that the SCIHUB community will donate a total of 2 billion SCIHUB tokens (20% of the total supply) to Alexandra's account to support the operation and development of Sci-Hub. As per the plan, Alexandra can sell up to 1% of the total supply per month (10 million SCIHUB tokens at most) to maintain the platform's normal operation. Currently, Alexandra has raised $500,000 through SCIHUB for the development and maintenance of Sci-Hub.
The whitepaper also outlined several future plans, including:
- Journal Incentive Mechanism: Providing token rewards to contributors and readers of scientific literature to incentivize more open academic contributions;
- Decentralized Storage Protocol: Creating a permissionless and censorship-resistant storage platform to protect scientific literature, experimental data, and code;
- Open Science Launchpad: Providing funding support for innovative open science projects to help scientists and developers realize their research visions.
