Industry Insider: The $6.5 billion worth of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government requires a strict and complex process for sale

BlockBeats News, January 11th, Aidan Larkin from Asset Reality, in response to a question about the U.S. government and Bitcoin, stated: "Basically, the recent court approval is a standard procedure for any civil forfeiture. And, this does not mean the U.S. will immediately hit the sell button. The sale of Bitcoin must follow a very strict process."

He added: "At some point in the future, it will go through the normal government process. There will be a civil forfeiture application hearing. They will get the approval, and then it will go through the normal law enforcement process and into the public domain." It is understood that Asset Reality is a U.S. company that assists governments in managing seized assets and has extensive experience in asset handling.

Furthermore, he believes that the possibility of these Bitcoins being transferred to a potential Bitcoin strategic reserve is not very high, so do not get your hopes up too much.
