The main suspect in the UK's largest Bitcoin money laundering case appeared in court for the first time and denied all charges

BlockBeats reported that on October 22, according to Caixin Weekly, on October 21, London time, Qian Zhimin, the main culprit in the illegal fund-raising case of Tianjin Blue Sky Green and the largest Bitcoin money laundering case in the UK, appeared in London Southwark Criminal Court. She denied all charges of illegal possession and transfer of cryptocurrencies in court.

In China, Qian Zhimin was identified as the main culprit in the Blue Sky Green illegal fund-raising case; the accomplice, Blue Sky Green's legal representative Ren Jiangtao, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in September 2021 for the crime of illegally absorbing public deposits; Blue Sky Green's general manager Wu Xiaolong was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison in November 2021 for the crime of illegally absorbing public deposits. After Qian Zhimin fled, the Chinese police issued a red warrant for her through Interpol.

In addition, some Chinese victimized investors have filed civil judicial proceedings in the UK and filed an overseas liquidation application for Blue Sky Green. After accepting the case, the Commercial and Property Court of the High Court of England and Wales recently issued an order to serve the overseas liquidation application and related documents to Qian Zhimin, Ren Jiangtao, the company's registered place and relevant departments in China, and published the liquidation application announcement in China's Global Times and Legal Daily.

In August 2020, Qian Zhimin fled from the UK, and the police later tracked her down to somewhere in the Far East. She was brought to justice in the UK in April 2024. Wen Jian, as an accomplice in the British money laundering case, was sentenced to 80 months in prison in May 2024.

It is worth noting that Caixin sent an interview letter to the London Metropolitan Police to inquire about the disposal of the assets involved in the case, but no response was received as of press time.
