MakerDAO's core patents were acquired, ending the encryption technology dispute

BlockBeats news, on August 13, DeFi Education Fund (DEF) reached an agreement with True Return Systems (TRS) on Monday to purchase a patent similar to oracle technology.

The controversial patent is at the heart of two legal complaints against MakerDAO and Compound, two decentralized financial protocols. The purchase ends the battle with the company, which DEF once called a "patent troll."

TRS sued MakerDAO and Compound in 2022, accusing them of using oracle-like technology and claiming to have a patent for a "method and system for separating the storage and processing of computerized ledgers to improve functionality."
