Ripple to use Axelar as bridge protocol for EVM sidechains

BlockBeats news, on June 12, according to The Block, the blockchain network XRP Ledger, supported by Ripple, announced that it will launch a sidechain called "XRPL EVM Sidechain" and use Axelar as the exclusive bridge protocol. The interoperability platform Axelar will allow users to exchange their XRP for wrapped XRP (eXRP), which will also be used as the native token for gas fees on the sidechain. Ripple said that using Axelar will "simplify" the user experience and enhance security.
