U.S. Bancorp and Rothschild disclose purchases of approximately $20 million in spot Bitcoin ETFs

BlockBeats news, on May 10, CryptoSlate reported that the first quarter 13F documents showed that several institutional investors disclosed the purchase of spot Bitcoin ETFs, with a total amount of about 20 million US dollars.


Among them, US Bancorp disclosed on May 8th an investment in spot Bitcoin ETFs worth more than 15 million US dollars, including about 87,744 shares of Fidelity FBTC (worth 5.4 million US dollars), about 46,011 shares of Grayscale GBTC (worth 2.9 million US dollars) and about 178,567 shares of BlackRock IBIT (worth 7.2 million US dollars). The bank's total investment is 71.8 billion US dollars. As one of the largest bank holding companies in the United States, US Bancorp will manage assets of more than 663 billion US dollars by the end of 2023.


Another Rothschild investment company, Edmond De Rothschild Holding SA, separately disclosed on May 9th over $4.2 million worth of spot Bitcoin ETF investments, including 103,600 shares of BlackRock IBIT (valued at just under $4.2 million) and 1,300 shares of Grayscale GBTC (valued at $82,121). The company's total investment is $6 billion.


Several other companies have recently disclosed investments in spot Bitcoin ETFs, including Hightower Advisors, SouthState Bank, Susquehanna International Group, BNP Paribas, Burkett Financial Services, and Legacy Wealth Asset Management. In addition, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company reported holding 227 shares of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust GBTC as of May 9, valued at $14,340.


BlackRock and Bitwise executives believe that institutional investors will continue to buy spot Bitcoin ETFs. As of May 9, the total assets under management of spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $52.7 billion, and the cumulative net inflow as of May 8 was close to $11.8 billion.
