Nayib Bukele successfully re-elected as President of El Salvador.

According to a report from CoinDesk on February 5th, the preliminary results of the Salvadoran election were announced by the Supreme Electoral Court. The incumbent president, Nayib Bukele, was successfully re-elected for another five-year term and will be inaugurated on June 1st of this year. Bukele is the first president in the democratic era of El Salvador to be re-elected for a consecutive term. It is known that Bukele has been serving as the president since 2019. In 2021, El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender.
