In the final ruling, a US judge ordered Ryder Ripps and others to pay Yuga Labs $9 million in compensation.

According to BlockBeats news on February 4th, US District Judge John F. Walter issued a final judgment in the BAYC copycat RR/BAYC infringement case, ordering Ryder Ripps and Jeremy Cahen to pay nearly $9 million in forfeiture profits, fines, legal fees, and other expenses to Yuga Labs. As part of the judgment, Ripps and Cahen must also relinquish their NFT within the next two weeks and transfer any infringing intellectual property (including domain names and smart contracts) to Yuga Labs. In June of 2021, Yuga Labs sued the "RR/BAYC" NFT series for infringement, alleging that they used the original BAYC image to produce and sell a large number of counterfeit NFTs under the "RR/BAYC" series, which led to the devaluation of BAYC NFTs. Ripps had initially argued that the lawsuit was an attack on his freedom of speech and stated that he would settle the case for no less than $100 billion. In April of this year, a US judge ruled that the BAYC copycat RR/BAYC had infringed Yuga Labs' copyright.
