The largest independent investment advisory service platform in the United States plans to complete an assessment of whether to support Bitcoin spot ETF within three months.
According to a report from Bloomberg on February 4th, LPL Financial, the largest independent investment advisory platform in the United States, is currently reviewing a recently approved Bitcoin spot ETF. The platform holds $1.4 trillion in assets under custody. LPL stated that it needs three months to evaluate the new spot ETF.
Rob Pettman, Head of Wealth Management Solutions at LPL Financial, said, "We want to see how they operate in the market. After the three-month evaluation period, the platform will decide which funds to offer, or whether they need more time to evaluate the ETF."
Currently, financial advisors using LPL can purchase Grayscale GBTC for their clients, as the trust fund is already available on the LPL platform before being converted into an ETF. Nine other funds, including BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC, are undergoing evaluation.
