Binance Labs invests in Ethereum liquidity staking protocol Puffer Finance.
According to an official announcement on January 30th, Binance Labs has invested in Puffer Finance, an Ethereum liquidity staking protocol. Puffer Finance is built on EigenLayer and has received support from several notable investors, including Brevan Howard Digital, Jump Crypto, and Lightspeed Faction. Binance Labs' investment will be used for the development of Puffer's Layer 2 network and the launch of its native liquidity staking token, pufETH.
As previously reported by BlockBeats, in August of last year, Puffer Finance announced the completion of a $5.5 million seed round, with lead investments from Lemniscap and Lightspeed Faction. Other participating organizations included Brevan Howard Digital, Bankless Ventures, Animoca Ventures, Kucoin Ventures, DACM, LBK, SNZ, Canonical Crypto, as well as community funds 33DAO, WAGMI33, and Concave. Angel investors included Anand Iyer (Lightspeed partner), Sreeram Kannan (EigenLayer founder), Frederick Allen (Coinbase staking business director), Shen Yu (F2pool and Cobo co-founder), Mr. Block (Curve core contributor), Ramble (North American Blockchain Association President), Calvin Liu (EigenLayer Chief Strategy Officer), Richard Malone (Obol Chief Business Officer), and Ladislaus von Daniels (staking community leader).
