Lisk plans to integrate into the Ethereum network in the form of L2 and intends to airdrop LSK tokens.
BlockBeats news on December 19th, Layer 1 blockchain Lisk is transitioning to the Ethereum ecosystem as a Layer 2 solution. The new Lisk network will be supported by OP Stack and built using Gelato's aggregator-as-a-service platform, with a focus on addressing local issues in emerging markets by introducing solutions for RWA, off-chain assets (OCA), and decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) on-chain.
This transition also involves migrating the LSK token to Ethereum. LSK's existing reward-sharing mechanism will continue, and the token will also be used for on-chain governance in the upcoming Lisk DAO.
Lisk also plans to airdrop LSK tokens for the first time to incentivize activity on the new chain, with more details expected to be provided before its mainnet launch.
