The US SEC solicits public feedback on Franklin Templeton's proposed Bitcoin spot ETF.
According to BlockBeats news on November 29th, the US SEC is seeking public opinion on whether to approve Franklin Templeton's spot Bitcoin ETF application, while just a few weeks ago, the US Securities and Exchange Commission stated that it needed more time to make a decision. Some analysts point out that regulatory agencies seem to be taking swift action.
The US SEC said it wants to conduct more analysis and "begin an investigation." On Tuesday, the regulatory agency asked commenters to express their concerns about manipulation and fraud, and asked about the relationship between the fund and Coinbase, which will be the custodian of the ETF.
The US SEC also said it will initiate proceedings and solicit public opinion on the Hashdex Bitcoin futures ETF application, which proposes to convert exchange-traded funds listed on the New York Stock Exchange into partially spot products.
Opinions on these two funds must be submitted within 21 days, followed by a two-week rebuttal period. The US SEC has not yet approved any Bitcoin spot ETFs and has so far delayed all applications received.
