Standard Chartered Bank has launched a new blockchain platform to assist institutions in digitizing financial instruments on the blockchain.
BlockBeats news, on November 14th, Standard Chartered Bank's venture capital department announced the launch of a new blockchain platform, "Libeara". Libeara is a technology service provider aimed at helping institutions digitize financial instruments on the blockchain (the infrastructure supporting cryptocurrencies), with the goal of reducing the need for intermediaries typically involved in trading such instruments. In theory, this improves efficiency and reduces the cost of buying and selling assets.
Libeara is working with FundBridge Capital, a Singapore-based fund platform solution provider, to create the first tokenized Singapore dollar government bond fund for professional investors. It is expected to be launched later but requires regulatory approval from Singapore authorities.
