Stablecoin protocol Raft was attacked this morning, with hackers stealing 1577 ETH and almost completely destroying it.
According to BlockBeats news on November 11th, as reported by Coindesk, stablecoin protocol Raft was attacked this morning, with damages of approximately $3.3 million. The attacker minted stablecoin R and sold it to exhaust the liquidity of automated market makers, while extracting collateral from Raft.
On-chain data shows that the attacker stole 1577 ETH in this attack, and then sent 1570 ETH to a burn address to destroy most of the stolen assets, leaving only 7 ETH for themselves. However, the hacker address received 18 ETH through Tornado Cash before the attack, which may have been used to fund the transaction. After executing the transfer and paying the blockchain fee, the attacker's encrypted wallet only had 14 ETH left, 4 ETH less than before the attack.
As a result of the attack, RAFT fell to $0.0052, a 25% decrease in 24 hours. Stablecoin R also briefly dropped 50% and suspended minting, now priced at $0.24.
