MakerDAO's buyback has reopened, with a current treasury balance of $55.8 million.
According to Makerburn data reported by BlockBeats on August 28th, MakerDAO recently made a profit of over $7.45 million by selling $125 million of RWA assets from Monetalis Clydesdale. The current treasury balance is $55.8 million, and the portion exceeding $50 million ($5.8 million) will be used to repurchase MKR and add it to Uniswap V2 LP with DAI. MakerDAO began the repurchase two days ago.
BlockBeats note: Monetalis Clydesdale, also known as MIP65, was proposed by Monetalis founder Allan Pedersen in January 2022 and was approved and implemented in October 2022. The goal is to invest a portion of MakerDAO's stablecoins in high-liquidity, low-risk bond ETFs, with an initial debt ceiling of $500 million, and to increase the ceiling to $1.25 billion through subsequent proposals in May 2023.
