Blockstream's Core Lightning has launched Splicing functionality, which achieves a unified wallet balance.
BlockBeats reported on August 25th that Core Lightning of Blockstream announced the launch of Splicing, aimed at providing Bitcoin Lightning wallet users with a cheaper and simplified experience. This feature is added as an experimental option in the latest version of Core Lightning, v23.08, and is called "Satoshi's Successor". Splicing technology enables users to add or remove funds to a single channel, eliminating the need for each user to have multiple channels that scatter liquidity. In addition, it also allows wallet providers using this implementation to eliminate the difference between users' on-chain Bitcoin and Lightning Network balances through a unified wallet, making this difference largely irrelevant.
