Founder of MakerDAO proposes revising the Spark Protocol revenue sharing agreement to ensure Aave receives 10% quarterly returns.
According to BlockBeats news on August 17th, Rune Christensen, the founder of MakerDAO, recently proposed multiple MIP revision sub-proposals in the community, including formalizing the revenue sharing system between Spark Protocol and Aave as part of the Maker ecosystem protocol, attempting to address its shortcomings and ensure expected behavior. According to the proposal, Spark Protocol must pay 10% of the revenue generated from its lending functionality based on the Aave codebase. These payments must be manually calculated by the coordinators of SparkDAO at the end of each quarter and manually paid in DAI from the surplus buffer of SparkDAO to the smart contract controlled by Aave governance.
In addition, prior to the release of SubDAO tokens, Maker Governance will temporarily be responsible for paying "virtual revenue shares" on behalf of Spark Protocol. Once SubDAO tokens are released, the virtual revenue sharing system will no longer be implemented and standard rules for executing the Spark Protocol Aave revenue sharing ecosystem protocol will be applied.
