Bitcoin volatility index rose to 38.81 yesterday, with a daily increase of 1.94%.
BlockBeats reported on August 16th that the BitVol (Bitcoin Volatility) index, launched by financial index company T3 Index in collaboration with Bitcoin options trading platform LedgerX, rose to 38.81 on the previous day, a 1.94% increase from August 14th.
Note from BlockBeats: The BitVol index measures the 30-day expected implied volatility derived from tradable Bitcoin options prices. Implied volatility refers to the volatility implied by the actual option prices. It is the volatility derived from the Black-Scholes option pricing formula by inputting the actual option price and other parameters excluding volatility σ.
The actual price of an option is formed by many option traders competing with each other. Therefore, implied volatility represents the market participants' views and expectations of the market's future, and is considered the closest to the actual volatility at that time.
