Vitalik Buterin claimed that XRP is completely centralized, and the XRP community responded with dissatisfaction to his comments.
According to BlockBeats news on August 13th, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, stated in a recent interview that cryptocurrency projects do not need to be decentralized, and that IOTA and XRP are completely centralized, yet they are still listed as cryptocurrencies on CoinMarketCap. Vitalik also pointed out that XRP has not apologized for its letter to the US government requesting support for XRP instead of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
XRP community members expressed dissatisfaction with Vitalik's comments. RIZ.XRP stated that Vitalik is "killing" other cryptocurrencies such as XRP, which are outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Other XRP enthusiasts also shared examples to prove that ETH is more centralized than XRP.
This is not the first time Vitalik has criticized XRP. As early as 2020, Vitalik urged Ethereum enthusiasts not to defend Ripple in its legal battle with the SEC.
